Business Stream marks two years of its Making a Positive Difference campaign
Business Stream has marked two years since launching its vision to make a positive difference to its customers, people, the environment and its local communities.
The company reported that since then has launched over 20 new initiatives to help deliver this ambition. This has included building partnerships with Business in the Community (BITC) and Career Ready to provide volunteering and mentoring opportunities to school students; establishing its charity panel; launching its pledge to reduce its carbon footprint by 20% by April 2022; achieving ISO: 14001 accreditation, which recognises high standards for its recycling, efficiency and environmental performance; and introducing a wide range of initiatives designed to help support colleagues’ health and wellbeing.
Achievements reported by Business Stream for the past year include: delivering £31m in discount, energy and water efficiency savings for customers; increasing colleague engagement by 11% to 73%; supporting four modern apprentices to graduation; the appointment of chief executive, Jo Dow, as chair of BITC Scotland’s Climate Action Group; and supporting four local community sports clubs.
• Last week Business Stream announced it had secured a new, two-year contract with ingredient manufacturer Macphie. In addition to providing water and waste water services, extension, the £230,000 contract will see Business Stream provide trade effluent advice and treatment services, where required, to ensure the company’s sites remain compliant.
