United Utilities' customer service and people director, Louise Beardmore is to succeed Steve Mogford as chief executive officer when he retires in early 2023.
To enable a smooth transition, Beardmore (pictured) joined the boards of United Utilities Group and United Utilities Water as chief executive designate on 1 May 2022. She will lead the creation of the company’s PR24 business plan.
Beardmore is known in the sector for her passion and enthusiasm for customers and people, and has been pivotal to the company’s transition to be a leading performer on customer service and employee engagement. Mogford commented: “Louise embodies all of the values to which we aspire. With her boundless energy and commitment, I have no doubt she will lead United Utilities to even greater success.”
Mogford has led the company for 12 years, transforming it and securing fast tracked status at the PR19 price review.
