Arcadis unveils net-zero-by-2035 plan

Natural and built assets consultancy, Arcadis has unveiled its commitment to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions across its global operations in 2035.

Arcadis said it will achieve its commitment by:

  • reducing scope 1 and 2 global greenhouse gas emissions by 45% by 2025, from a 2019 base year; and

  • cutting scope 3 business travel related emissions by 35% by 2025, from a 2019 base year.

The plan includes also a range of short- and medium-term milestones, including:

  • offsetting 100% of material scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions through offsets, already in place since 2020, as an interim step to Net Zero;

  • using 100% renewable electricity globally before the end of 2021; and

  • reducing 50% of emissions caused by domestic and international flights by 2025.
