Portsmouth Water appoints new chairman
Portsmouth Water has appointed Christopher Deacon, as chairman.
Deacon (pictured) is an infrastructure and project financier with experience in the water, power and rail sectors. He joins Portsmouth following his tenure as a non-executive director of Thames Water where he was engaged in the Thames Tideway Tunnel project and aspects of the company’s capital investment programme.
Portsmouth said his background will “stand him in good stead as Portsmouth Water embarks on its multi-million project to construct a new reservoir at Havant Thicket.
Deacon will take up the post on 1 June 2020, succeeding Mike Kirk who will step down after eight years.
