Water Industry Forum publishes System Operator development checklist

The Water Industry Forum – an independent, not-for-profit stakeholder forum for the whole of the UK water sector – has articulated water company priorities should a Catchment System Operator (CSO) model be progressed.

The work, led by eight water companies and Mott MacDonald, set out matters of interest to water companies and the questions those companies would ask in a Checklist for model developers and policy makers. This is intended to assist the formulation of proposals, following Defra’s suggestion in the 25 Year Environment Plan that a CSO might more effectively coordinate the activities of multiple organisations in a catchment.

The Water Industry Forum has around 600 members including government, regulators, regional water companies, contractors, consultants, manufacturers, research organisations, third sector organisations and investors. It aims to tackle the many challenges facing the UK water sector through facilitated collaborative working.
