Severn Trent earmarks cash to cover small supplier payments

Severn Trent has arranged for £38m to fund immediate payments to its small- and medium-sized suppliers for “at least the next three months” during the current difficult economic conditions.

The company’s chief commercial officer, Helen Miles, said: “We’ve got more payments lined up and we’re carrying on placing orders because we’re still working hard to make sure our four million customers, hospitals and care homes have the water services they need in this difficult time."

Severn Trent has reported also that it was “committed to not furloughing or laying off any Severn Trent colleagues” as a result of the pandemic.
