More than 5,000 NHS staff seek rebates offered by Bristol and Wessex
Bristol Water and Wessex Water have reported that more than 5,000 NHS workers including nurses, doctors and paramedics, have applied for the companies’ water bill rebates for frontline staff facing a stepped-up burden on home-laundering their uniforms.
The companies unveiled last week their offer of a rebate for NHS staff who, during the coronavirus pandemic, are required to wash their uniforms at home, separated from other clothes, at high temperature and not on full load. And to do so more often.
Those eligible for the rebate can claim up to £50 off their bill. The rebate applies to customers on a water meter who receive their water supply from Bristol Water or Wessex Water.
