Consultant calls on retail stakeholders to join up to address bad data and bill errors
A water supplier-switching software provider has urged “regulators, market operator and water retailers” to combine forces in correcting billing and data issues in water retail.
In an open letter, director and co-founder of SwitchWaterSupplier.com, Tim Guest, has called on retail water stakeholders to seek “deep collaboration” in a bid to address instances where water retailers’ in-house expertise in water audit or correction of billing data errors is not adequate.
Guest has proposed that independent expertise like that of his company could be made available through partnerships to enable water retailers to provide “a truly compelling customer proposition, where water efficiency, water bill validation and data correction services are concerned.”
He went on to suggest the services might be provided under the water retailer’s own brand, or as a white label service to make “significant strides in to the volume of work to be done to tackle errors in English market data and to offer water efficiency consultancy and leakage control services.”
Guest has invited retail market stakeholders including consultants and third party intermediaries to contact him on retailer@switchwatersupplier.com “with a view to working more closely together to reverse some of the criticisms made of the infant market and provide a multi-stranded strategy to address the majority of current issues.”
