Water firms rooted in National Tree Week

by Karma Loveday

The water industry widely supported National Tree Week last week.

Among companies announcing initiatives was South West Water, which pledged to plant at least 100,000 trees over the next ten years. And Yorkshire Water reported it will have planted 250,000 trees by spring while Anglian Water recently planted a section of woodland at its Rutland Water reservoir in partnership with the Woodland Trust.

In August, all UK water companies made a commitment to plant 11 million trees as part of a Public Interest Commitment goal to become a carbon neutral industry by 2030.
