Kelloggs secures self supply licences

Cereal producer Kellogg’s has secured self-supply retail water and sewerage licences. It intends to self supply four sites in Manchester: one manufacturing plant and three warehouses.

In considering its application, Ofwat reported Kellogg’s wanted to take more control of its water use, and has set itself targets including to implement water reuse projects in at least 25% of its plants and reduce its global water use.

Water reduction is a key pillar of Kellogg’s global 2020 sustainability commitments. It has set a target to drive down water usage by 15% against a 2015 baseline.
