Ofwat issues John Lewis self-supply licences

Ofwat has granted John Lewis self supply water and sewerage licences, making it the first retailer to go down the path of buying services direct from wholesalers.

The licences will enable the company to provide retail services to its department store chain, John Lewis and Partners with 51 sites, and to its supermarket chain Waitrose and Partners, with 349 stores.
