Amey to up spend with social enterprises to 5% by 2023
Infrastructure and consultancy firm, Amey, has announced a commitment to increase its spending with social enterprises to 1% of it addressable expenditure by 2020 increasing to 5% by 2023.
Amey’s chief procurement officer, John Cully (pictured), unveiled the spending plan at a recent London event saying it will build on progress Amey has made with small businesses. They account for 75% of Amey’s UK supplier base and 47% of its spend of over £1more than 1.4bn a year.
Cully claimed the move made Amey “the first strategic supplier to commit a percentage of its addressable spend to businesses who use their profits to create positive, social change.”
