Angela Smith to fight Altrincham and Sale West for Liberal Democrats

Co-chair of the All Party Parliamentary Water Group, Angela Smith, has announced she has been appointed the prospective parliamentary candidate for Altrincham & Sale West.

Smith (pictured), a Liberal Democrat after leaving Labour earlier this year, said on Twitter: “It’s a great opportunity to beat a Tory Brexiteer MP as well as leading the fight to stop Brexit.”

Hannah Kitching, leader of the Barnsley Liberal Democrats and a Penistone West councillor, will fight Smith’s constituency, Penistone and Stocksbridge, for the party at the next general election.
