Severn Trent chief receives honorary PhD
Cranfield University has awarded Severn Trent chief executive, Liv Garfield, an honorary doctorate for her outstanding contribution to business.
Director of Water at Cranfield, Professor Paul Jeffrey, described Garfield’s leadership of Severn Trent as “inspirational.”
Cranfield and Severn Trent have an eight-year old partnership that addresses various aspects to the water company’s operation including phosphorous removal from wastewater and anaerobic digestion. It was named as one of the world’s “top 100 corporate-academic partnerships” by leading academic journal, Nature.
Last year, Garfield (pictured) won the Veuve Clicquot Business Woman of the Year title.
