Northern Ireland Water extends chair's term by a year

Chair of Northern Ireland Water, Dr Leonard O’Hagan CBE, has had his four-year term heading up the government-owned utility extended by 12 months.

The announcement was made by the Department for Infrastructure. Normally the non-exec post which carries an annual salary of £40,000 would have been signed-off by a minister. In this case civil servants were responsible as political leadership in Northern Ireland remains in limbo.

Before joining NI Water in 2015 O’ Hagan (pictured) was chair of Belfast Harbour Commissioners. His current roles include: chair of the All Island CHD Network Board and independent director of the College of Anaesthesiologists.
