Yorkshire Water seeks drought permits

Yorkshire Water has applied for six drought permits that would apply from 31 March 2019 and reduce the compensation flows from four South Yorkshire reservoirs in the River Don catchment.

Yorkshire said it needed the permits after an acute rise in demand during last summer’s heatwave of up to 200 Ml/day created a threat of serious shortages of water in South Yorkshire.
