Ofwat adjusts standard WSSL conditions
Ofwat has made three modifications to the standard licences conditions in business retail water supply licences and sewerage licences (WSSLs).
Two of the modifications remove the need for consultation and the introduction of changes on an individual case by case basis – one where the licence is for sewerage services only, and the other for self supply licences.
The third modification was to make the timing more flexible for a licencee to submit its certificate of adequacy. The previous standard licence conditions had a prescriptive timescale that required licensees to sign their new certificates of adequacy during March of each year and submit it to Ofwat by 1 April.
All respondents to Ofwat’s March - April 2018 consultation were supportive.
