Thames appoints Centrica director as new non-executive
Thames Water has appointed current group director of human resources at Centrica, Jill Shedden MBE, as an independent non-executive director.
As part of a major review of its corporate structure and governance to boost transparency for customers and stakeholders, Thames has pledged to have a majority of independent non-executive directors on its board by the time the review is completed.
Thames Water chairman, Ian Marchant,said: “Jill has tremendous experience of the need for utilities to provide industry-leading customer service, as well as driving business performance through cultural change.”
Shedden has been with Centrica since 1988 when she joined the firm as a marketing graduate. She has since held several roles in human resources before being appointed to group director in July 2011. She received her MBE for services to women and equality in 2017 in recognition of her work with the Women’s Business Council.
Her Thames role started on 1 October 2018.
