Northumbrian tops British Water survey for second year running

Water sector supply chain companies have, for the second consecutive year and the seventh time in eight years, voted Northumbrian Water as the UK's top water company in the British Water 2018 annual performance survey.

South West Water came in second from fourth in 2017 – exchanging position with Thames Water. And Anglian was third, up from sixth last year.

The survey measures suppliers' views on how the main water and sewerage companies compare with each other in ten categories including contractual approach, professional qualities, innovation and their partners. Northumbrian Water topped the list in nine categories and had an average score of 7.7 out of ten.

Bottom of the list was Southern Water – down from ninth last year with Scottish Water in 11th place for the second year running.

The suppliers polled include framework capital contractors, consultants, distribution materials suppliers and operational contractors.
