Hughes succeeds Sue Amies-King as Water Plus chief

July 1, 2018

Severn Trent’s head of credit management and payment services, Andy Hughes was last week appointed the new chief executive officer of Water Plus.

The company paid tribute to outgoing chief, Sue Amies-King, who led the business since its creation in March 2016, overseeing the United Utilities/Severn Trent merger and the first year of live trading.

No reason was given for her departure nor details of her next move. Water Plus said Hughes (pictured), now on boarding with the company, brings extensive retail and commercial market experience having worked in financial organisations including Barclays, Barclaycard and HBOS.

He said: “I am really pleased and excited to be joining a market leader that has had a good start in the water market since it opened in England in April 2017. I would like to also thank Sue Amies-King for all that she has done for the business and for setting up such a great team of people.”
