European Union Environment Council to debate recast of Drinking Water Directive
Revision of the Drinking Water Directive is top of the bill today (25 June) at an EU Environment Council meeting taking place in Luxembourg.
The discussion, attended by Lord Gardiner of Kimble for the UK and Welsh environment minister Hannah Blythyn, will also adopt the conclusions for delivering on the EU Action Plan for the Circular Economy.
Among the other topics to be discussed are:
climate adaptation in the EU to 2020 and beyond
water reuse regulation
regulation on the alignment of environmental reporting obligations
Paris Agreement compliance as an essential element of EU agreements, and enforceability of sustainable development provisions of trade agreements.
