Waterscan sets up users' forum for self suppliers and hosts first meeting

Waterscan has established a forum for self supply licensees to discuss issues, activity, performance, improvements and general updates on the market, as well as “to inform and lobby for change within the water industry,” the water management and self supply specialist said.

The inaugural Self Supply Users’ Forum (SSUF) was attended by licence holders and applicants Greene King, Whitbread, Marston’s and Coca-Cola European Partners. Waterscan said the meeting was designed to enable the self-supply community to engage with each other and directly with key market stakeholders MOSL and Ofwat. Key themes discussed were: wholesaler and retailer performance, switching experiences and discussion on any concerns the participants had. In addition, market consultation and code changes were raised, including the current consultation on the self-supply application process.

The SSUF will meet quarterly. In future, wholesalers and other interested bodies will be invited to take part in addition to the regulator and market operator. The next meeting is scheduled for March and will be followed by a session for customers potentially interested in self supply to discuss the pros and cons first had with existing Forum members.
