Portsmouth Water is consulting until 2 March on its draft Drought Plan, which covers the 2018-23 period. This explains that the company is planning for a wider range of droughts, and sets out how it would act to protect customers, the environment and the local economy in a drought situation.
On publishing the Drought Plan for consultation, Portsmouth took the opportunity to flag up to stakeholders that it shortly hopes to publish its draft Water Resources Management Plan, which includes a proposal to develop a new reservoir at Havant Thicket. There will be a 12-week consultation on the draft WRMP once Portsmouth has government clearance to publish it.
