Ofwat challenges United surety condition for sewer adoption at two developments

Ofwat has opened appeal against United Utilities about a condition it has proposed to apply to agreements to adopt sewers at two developments in Cumbria.

The condition relates to the level of surety required from the firm to cover the cost of bringing sewers up to an adoptable standard once the developments have ben completed.

The appeal was opened on 2 February 2017 under Section 105(2) of the Water Industry Act 1991.
