Sells reappointed as Natural England chair

The Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), Andrea Leadsom, has reappointed Andrew Sells as chairman of the board of Natural England for the year to 19 January 2017.

Sells (pictured) was first appointed chairman in January 2014. He also sits on the Defra board.

In confirming the reappointment

Leadsom said he will have a “central role to play in delivering Defra’s strategy, in particular the 25 Year plan for the environment.”

Sells said:”I look forward to ensuring Natural England realises the ambitions of its conservation strategy - Conservation 21 - which supports the government’s aspirations for the environment.”

Sells’ appointment is part time with a commitment of 113 days for its duration.
