Black & Veatch joins Thames Water's capital programme alliance

Black & Veatch has joined Thames Water’s capital programme alliance, eight2O , which is charged with completing a £1.75bn capital investment programme for the water firm between 2015 and 2020. Black and Veatch joined the alliance through its joint venture with existing members, Costain and Atkins (CABV) – one of two design-build joint ventures.

The CABV joint venture is involved in the design, construction and commissioning of new water and wastewater treatment and carriage assets. And it is responsible for optimising the performance of new and existing assets. Black & Veatch will provide data gathering and analysis for Thames' projects.

Most of the initial investment has been targeted at schemes with the greatest impact on key customer outcomes, such as leakage reduction, flooding and energy efficiency.

Black & Veatch joins the other member of eight2O: Thames Water, the Skanska, MWH and Balfour Beatty design-build joint venture, technology partner IBM and programme manager MWH.
