Water Plus makes positive progress with customer debut and good day in the gym

September 16, 2016

The United Utilities/Severn Trent retail joint venture Water Plus made its first public appearance at The Water Event at the NEC this week. Chief executive Sue Amies-King said on top of cost efficiency, the collaboration enabled a fresh start, agility, flexibility and scale to invest. Illustrating the latter point, she also announced on Tuesday the launch of two new Water Plus apps – one for brokers to engage with the company and one to help small customers audit their own consumption.

Amies-King said Water Plus sought to offer a friendly, personal service to all sorts of non household customers and would offer a range of value added services on top of water and wastewater supply.

To coincide with the debut, Water Plus announced it had been named as preferred water supplier for leisure chain David Lloyd’s 84-site estate. The retailer will offer the health clubs and gyms one point of contact for billing and a consolidated bill for wastewater, surface water drainage and trade effluent. It will also deliver a water efficiency plan for David Lloyd, including the installation of automated meter readers and leak detection across its sites.

A full interview with Sue Amies-King will be in our October print and digital editions.
