Shadow market has emerged: MOSL

On Tuesday, MOSL issued an alert announcing the effective opening of the shadow market.

It said two companies – Welsh Water and Sutton and East Surrey Water – had successfully completed their final data uploads into the Central Market Operating System and as such that shadow operation had effectively got underway two weeks ahead of the official opening scheduled for 3 October. “This marks a significant milestone in the journey towards the opening of the new market,” the alert noted.

MOSL added that four more companies are due to carry out their final data uploads on Monday 19 September. Companies are widely considered to be at different stages of readiness for shadow. However all are scheduled to have completed their data uploads by the end of September.
