Senior appointments at Ofwat

Ofwat has appointed Jenny Block (pictured right) as general counsel and Alena Kozakova (pictured left) as chief economist.

Block is currently a partner at Pinsent Masons. Prior to that she was legal director of Postcomm and a legal advisor with the UK Competition Commission, (now part of the CMA).

She will take up her new role in September and will be a member of Ofwat’s Senior Leadership Team.

Ofwat’s current general counsel, Elizabeth Hillman, is taking a take a career break.

Kozakova was previously at from Frontier Economics. She is an expert in competition and regulatory economics, having previously worked for the Competition Commission, Office of Fair Trading, and the Directorate General for Competition of the European Commission. . She will join Ofwat in August.
