Ofwat publishes business retail price controls method statement

Ofwat has set out its outline for its approach to price controls in the business retail market confirming its intention to set the next controls for three years.

Its latest document, Business retail price review 2016: Statement of method and data table requirements, follows on from its initial consultation in November 2015 and its draft statement issued in April.

Ofwat lists key issues raised by respondents to consultation as including:

the scope of its review (which includes the overall allowances made for business

retail cost to serve and net margins);

how best to address changes in estimates of the numbers of customers eligible to

participate in the business market;

the approach to simplification and form of control; and

the timetable, information requirements (including data tables) for this review.
