Customer watchdog appoints new chief

Updated: Jun 18

CCW has appointed Emma Clancy as its new chief executive.

Clancy (pictured) is currently director of care at building products manufacturer, BMI, and chair of the Building Regulations Advisory Committee where she has been for more than nine years. She succeeds Tony Smith who has retired after 15 years in the post.

Clancy said she wanted to build on the “strong foundations” CCW built under Smith to “get consumers more actively engaged with a utility that we can sometimes take for granted.”

She will take up the CCW post on 1 July.
