Anglian Water Business announces its readiness for business retail


Anglian Water Business has announced that it has fulfilled key technical requirements for participation in the business water supply market scheduled to open next year.

The firm has passed regulatory testing measures to acquire a Market Entry Assurance certificate which companies bidding to become a trading party have the required systems, processes and capabilities to fulfil their market obligations. Market operator MOSL and regulator Ofwat have stipulated the levels of planning, governance and technical capability that retailers must attain.

Anglian Water Business customer services director, Jonathan Clarke, said the attainment puts the company in a "leading position." enabling it to focus its customers.

"Anglian Water Business has successfully completed Market Entry Assurance Testing. This is a significant step in enabling us to operate in the open English market, by demonstrating to MOSL and Ofwat that we have the systems capability to transact with the Central Market Operating System; the shared core IT system for the new open market."

The company said it had also passed the MOSL/Ofwat Business Solution Assessment – another significant part of the open market entry process.
