Thames Water, has passed the 100,000 installations mark in its smart meter roll out. The company has claimed to have reduced leakage by some 930,000 litres a day having detected 4,200 leaks detected on customer pipes.
The roll out includes visits to each home scheduled for a smart meter installation to checkouts water efficiency and to install water-saving technology including flow regulating shower heads and dual-flush toilet adapters. Thames said this service has reduced consumption by some 2Ml.
